I got into the idea of practicing massage therapy after working for years in the food service industry. I found that even when I felt great, I wasn't always able to help my customers to feel as good as I did. Massage, for me, is a way of finding and spending time with people who want to feel better than they do now. Intention is a huge part of feeling well, and feeling well is what I want for not only myself, but for everyone.
I've been a licensed massage therapist for four years receiving my schooling in Honolulu, Hawaii with certifications in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Hot Stones as well as training with the elderly here in North Dakota. Having worked in two spa situations on the islands has shaped some of the ideas and concepts that have lead me to my current intention. I believe that achieving a relaxed state of being, and maintaining it, is key in this fast-paced and sometimes overwhelming world. Massage is one of many wonderful tools that a person can use for this maintenance. It works with the superficial soft tissue (muscles and tendons) in the body which influences how bones reticulate and how the blood flows.
The belief that balance on all levels of being is essential to an optimal existence and a general feeling of contented vitality is one that I share with many people from many times and places. Wellness is not a new concept and if it is something you find yourself seeking, please feel free to give me a call.
Be Well,
S. Spencer Redding L.M.T
